Up to $90K for Childhood Obesity

The American Heart Association and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation are accepting applications for the Voices for Healthy Kids initiative, a collaboration to engage, organize and mobilize children to grow up at a healthy weight.

Voices for Healthy Kids coordinates state, local and tribal public policy issue advocacy campaigns focused on healthy eating and active living.

The grant opportunity is to support ongoing campaigns in schools and community and out-of-school care programs. One year awards of up to $90,000 are available. There is no matching requirement.

Applications must be specific to an individual campaign focused on changing public policy in one state, local or tribal geographic location and must align with one of the Voices for Healthy Kids policy priorities.

Also available are incubator grants designed to reach populations most adversely affected by childhood obesity and strategically directed awards ranging from $20,000 to $80,000 that support lobbying activities that support Voices for Healthy Kids objectives.

Applicants should identify partners and strategies.

The deadline to apply is July 21, 2017.
